Speaker Series: Bob Hermann, Rotary District 5150 Co-Chair of Endowments and Major Gifts, explains how Bequests and Legacy Giving support Rotary International Foundation programs into the future.

Bob Hermann is a retired healthcare information technologist and program manager who spent more than 25 years helping major medical centers and insurers modernize their systems and improve the way care is delivered. His work spanned clinical information systems, compliance, and security — always with a focus on collaboration and making complex technology work for people. Bob earned his master’s degree in computer science with high honors from Golden Gate University and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Saint Peter’s University. Along the way, he was recognized with industry honors such as the IT Summit and BIO Leadership Awards and earned certifications in HIPAA privacy and security.

Today, Bob channels his energy into community service and leadership. He is Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of San Francisco, the current District 5150 CoChair of Major Gifts and Endowments, and serves on the UCSF Medical Center Retirees Board.  His past board service included the San Francisco Rotary Foundation, RotaCare Bay Area, and the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus. He has also lent his leadership and volunteerism internationally — from helping vaccinate children against polio in India to supporting cleft-lip and palate surgeries with Alliance for Smiles, with his next journey to Guatemala with Maya Health Care Alliance in building health equity in Guatemala for women and children.
