Rotary Club of West Marin Online Speaker Series | Via Zoom
Everyone is welcome! For a Zoom invitation, please email info@rotaryclubwestmarin.com.
Marlene Capra will speak about SPEAK SAFE: Save Adolescents from Exploitation. SPEAK SAFE is a multigenerational task force working together to bring awareness to youth exploitation and victimization in our local Marin County community. We are engaging decision-makers in our school boards, the foster care system, LBGTQ+ communities, and more to advocate for unrepresented and underserved youth. By collaborating with local law enforcement officials, we can gather targeted data and information on local cases, keeping our education programming and seminars current and hyper-relevant to the Marin County area.
Marlene Capra is the Founder and Executive Director of SpeakSAFE: Save Adolescents from Exploitation, which aims to fund and implement a collaborative approach to provide preventative education on human trafficking and exploitation of youth in the Bay Area. In addition to managing all aspects of the program, Marlene personally conducts training in conjunction with a youth team, all of whom are survivors of abuse. Both in person and on social media, they present on exploitation and the victimization of youth and what support is needed to encourage them to find their voices and come forward, enabling them to find assistance and healing. Through this forum, victims have mobilized their voices in partnership to make lasting change while working together on this initiative.
