Infectious disease specialist, Darvin (Scott) Smith, MD, will describe Rotary’s crucial work to finally eradicate Polio worldwide and explain how current global challenges are addressed to stop this incurable paralyzing disease at the Rotary Club of West Marin.

Scott comes from the Rotary Club in San Mateo where he serves on the board and helps with community scholarships through the Fun Run (Oct 19th in San Mateo along the Bay Trail!)

He grew up in Colorado where he went to Medical School, and trained in Public Health at Harvard then specialized in Infectious Disease & Geographic Medicine at Stanford.  With this foundation, he brings a passion to Polio Eradication and the grass roots efforts to end this scourge.
